A hive or two are left in the back garden from time to time, maybe a swarm or a transferred hive from another beekeeper.  Just a week or two of being watched and strengthened.

No honey is taken as the hives move out to fallow sites to build up their strength.

These feed on the plants in private gardens, allotments  and the local loop railway line.
