Back to apiaries |
A local farmer has granted Bee plus license to place hives in his fields in order to improve the pollination of his crops. An apiary is operated slightly north of the Bath road and Heathrow airport. The honey produced is normally left for the bee stocks to strengthen themselves before being moved back into a park apiary in the springtime. Typical crops in these fields are oil seed rape and bean. The bees will feed in the fields and in the margins on hedgerow plants such as: Hawthorne, Bramble, and Ivy.

Not forgetting the plants in many private gardens and the grounds of hotels along the bath road!
